March 13, 2020
This morning, LAUSD announced that it has decided to close school for the next two weeks, beginning on Monday, March 16th. We know that this will have a significant impact on our students, families, and employees and have been planning for potential closures since the news of Covid-19 became available.
With the safety of our school community in mind as well as the safety of the general public, we will be closing all four Ingenium schools beginning on Monday, March 16th for a period of two weeks while we monitor the developing COVID-19 pandemic and determine the best course of action. The specific details of the closure are currently being finalized and we will be communicating with all employees and families in the coming hours.
I want to thank our cabinet and school leaders who have been in constant communication this morning and over the last two weeks in preparation for possible closures as well as determining a course of action that makes the most sense for the public health and our individual school communities.
We are anticipating many questions and concerns from you and are finalizing communications about next steps as I write this. As I mentioned above, you can expect to hear more in the coming hours.
This was a difficult decision to make but we believe it is the right decision in the best interest of our school communities’ safety and health.
Thank you for your commitment to our kids as well as your patience while we ensure that we make decisions that are in the best interest for everyone.
Updates to this will be pushed to you via ParentSquare and text message or you can return to this page for updates.
