Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Community Members:
We are nearing the end of the first week of school for students for all Ingenium Schools! As I greeted parents and students and toured classes this week, the excitement for the 2017-18 school year was evident. At Ingenium Schools we have had many changes over the past year, but one of the areas where we did not have change is with our administration team. 100% of our administrators, at both the central office and at school sites, have returned. This stability has enabled Ingenium Schools to have an excellent start to the school year, even though many of our school sites have had some significant changes.
At Clemente Charter School (CCS) in Maywood we are now split between three campuses: Heliotrope, Fishburn and Holmes elementary campuses. LAUSD was not able to provide space on a single campus to accommodate our increases in expected enrollment. Clemente Charter School is now operating aTK-5 school on the historic Holmes Elementary School campus. For more information you can call: 1-323-984-9008.
Barack Obama Charter School (BOCS) in Compton has also moved. The Compton Unified School District wanted to move BOCS to the Vanguard Learning Center campus, 13305 S. San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA. The BOCS staff decided this would be a good move for the school. The new campus is much larger with more play area, larger classrooms, library and cafeteria. All teachers seem to be very happy with their new classrooms. For more information you can call: 1-323-566-1965.
Ingenium Charter School (ICS) is still on the same campus at Columbus Middle School. We now have many more classrooms and a new set of bathrooms to accommodate the increase in enrollment. For more information you can call: 1-818-456-4590.
Ingenium Charter Middle School (ICMS) is still on the same campus at Sutter Middle School, but has moved over a few buildings in order to accommodate their increase in enrollment. For more information you can call: 1-818-309-2777.
Do not worry if you missed the first few days of school, however please bring your child to your local Ingenium School as soon as possible.
Parents and staff should automatically receive the Superintendent’s Newsletter; however, if you are aware of someone within our communities who wishes to be kept informed, they can register at http://ingeniumschools.org
We look forward to another great school year.
David P. Langford, Superintendent
