Recently, the Board of Trustees of Ingenium Schools passed a resolution to close Ingenium Clarion Charter Middle School due to declining enrollment, fiscal instability, and facility challenges. While this decision marks the end of an era, it also provides an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable journey of our school, the achievements of our students, and the unwavering dedication of our staff.
Reflecting on the Impact
In a heartfelt video, our students expressed their gratitude to the teachers and staff of Clarion. Their messages highlight the profound impact our school has had on their lives. One student shared, “I want to thank all the Clarion staff and teachers for making my two years at this school actually livable and not hell.” This sentiment resonates deeply, reflecting the supportive environment we have strived to create.
Another student acknowledged the challenges they faced but appreciated the patience and dedication of the staff, stating, “I want to give a shout-out to Clarion because in the beginning, it was a rough start in sixth grade, and they were patient and took their time. I really appreciate that from all the staff and teachers.” These words underscore the commitment of our educators to nurture and guide our students, even during difficult times.
Celebrating Achievements
Despite the challenges, our school community has achieved remarkable milestones. One student expressed their gratitude for academic support, saying, “I want to thank Clarion for helping me pass sixth grade.” Another student highlighted the enjoyable aspects of their experience, stating, “I would like to thank Clarion for making my first and last year fun.”
These expressions of gratitude are a testament to the positive and enriching environment that Clarion has provided.
Acknowledging the Staff
Our teachers and staff have been the backbone of Clarion, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the success of our students. Superintendent Bill Toomey expressed it best: “Special thanks goes to our loving and caring staff at Clarion. The announcement was made three months ago, and this caring staff stepped up to the plate to make the last three months with these students memorable. They gave 110% to our students and our families even knowing we’d be closed at the end of the year. We wish them all the best.”
Principal Jennifer Herrera also shared her gratitude, saying, “Thank you Clarion Team, our staff, and teachers. You poured into our kids day after day, and it shows. Our students have grown academically and socially, and we thank you for all your work that you’ve done this year!” This acknowledgment is a powerful reminder of the tireless efforts of our educators. Their commitment to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment has made a lasting impact on our students.
Looking Ahead with Gratitude
As we move forward, we carry with us the fond memories and achievements of Ingenium Clarion Charter Middle School. While the decision to close the school is a difficult one, it is made with the best interests of our students and community in mind. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Clarion students, families, and staff for their unwavering support and dedication.
We wish all our students continued success in their future endeavors. May they carry the lessons learned and the friendships made at Clarion with them as they embark on new journeys. To our staff, your contributions have been invaluable, and we are eternally grateful for your hard work and commitment.
